The initiative, which includes partners like Cisco, Nokia, T-Mobile, MITRE, and Booz Allen Hamilton, focuses on developing a new, AI-integrated software foundation for 5G and the anticipated 6G standards.
The driving vision behind this effort is the expected surge of AI-driven devices—from autonomous vehicles and industrial robots to advanced AR systems. Open RAN software components.
Core network functions from Cisco.

T-Mobile is contributing as the validating telecom operator, with plans to commence field testing in the near future. A key technical innovation is an AI application designed to optimize radio spectrum use in real-time.
